Aaron grew up about as far from the ocean as you can get while still living in the United States. He saw the ocean once during college in Florida, and again on a week cruise through the Caribbean. Eventually, he moved to the other side of the country and ended up in Southern California.
Even then it took a few years more before he stumbled across a National Geographic article on nudibranchs. A few quick google searches led him to discover some local photographers, which led to more nudibranch photos and ID guides for other local marine life, and eventually the realization that Southern California has some really good diving!
An online PADI course and handful of pool sessions were immediately followed by an order for a cheap compact housing, and he was ready to shoot blurry and out of focus pictures on his open water dives. After that, he was hooked.
In the following couple years Aaron has melted and flooded a camera, upgraded to a DSLR, and has added a vast range of other accessories. His diving has taken him as far north as British Columbia, throughout California from Monterrey to San Diego, glimpsed the Caribbean as well as exploring a handful of locations throughout Indonesia and the Philippines.
