Natasha Abhayawickrama

Key Opinion Ambassador

Natasha is a 17-year-old climate justice activist based in Western Sydney who strongly focuses her work on pushing for systemic change. Feeling a responsibility to take her future into her own hands, she has been campaigning since she was 15 years old and has been able to mobilise on multiple occasions, tens of thousands of Australians to the streets nationwide to demand Australian leaders to take action on the climate crisis. She has organised across the climate movement in Sydney and Australia, primarily with the School Strike 4 Climate movement, but has also organised with the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and the Stop Adani movement.

Throughout her years of campaigning Natasha has been able to organise disruptively through mobilising, organising within her local community, and featuring in mainstream media to hold Australian leaders accountable in acting on the climate crisis. Natasha has worked digitally and on the ground on successful campaigns targeting the Australian Government, as well as corporations and banks who are funding and supporting the fossil fuel industry. Natasha will continue to lobby and hold those in power accountable for their actions in the fight for climate justice.
