Caroline Schoenfelder

Line Producer/1st Assistant Director

Caroline is a French photographer and diver. Born and raised in a country where it’s all about gastronomy, her weakness lies in delicious French pastries. Yet, she has spent her past fifteen years living between New York and Paris. 

She studied special effects makeup in New York and graduated film school in Paris, head of class, with a three-year university degree in cinematography. Then, she worked on short film productions, commercials and corporate films as director of photography, camera assistant and colorist. For two years, she was head producer of a Parisian postproduction company but then decided to orientate her career in making documentaries

In search for adventure and new horizons, she spent the past year traveling on her own and started scuba diving to fulfill her lifetime passion in marine biology and her wish to discover the underwater world. She is now a certified Divemaster, 3*** CMAS and Nitrox diver. The future of our planet, the world we live in and the protection of endangered species are her main concern. She is very involved in nature conservation, is member of a few non profit organizations fighting against overfishing, Arctic oil drilling… and is now working on creating her own.

She is also the US representative for Longitude 181, founded by Francois Sarano, a fellow member of Jacques-Yves Cousteau’s team on the Calypso.
