Charuka is an entrepreneur who has built companies from ground up and now provides his expertise to emerging companies. He has specialised knowledge in IT and corporate finance and has over 25+ years’ experience in working in both public and private sectors. His career expanded in companies like IBM, Apra, NRMA, Commonwealth bank.
Charuka was the managing director of an IT firm for 20 years that was started by him and sold in 2019. Charuka retired from the corporate world at the age of 45 to pursue adventures in the nature. At present Charuka is the Chief Investment officer at CAAS Investment Holdings where he manages a private equity portfolio for private clients. Through this company Charuka is actively involved in many wildlife conservation projects. Charuka is a keen underwater, wildlife and bird photographer. In 2022 Charuka is embarking on photographing 700+ bird species within Australia in a calendar year. Charuka is a PADI master scuba diver and has travelled around the world on diving expeditions and has witnessed the effects of climate change first hand and advocates climate action projects. Charuka is actively involved and funding many grass root level education and conservation projects in Sri lanka related to human elephant conflicts and leopards.
