Dan Bennett

Daniel Bennett is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and explorer. Dan served as the 36th president of The Explorers Club and has participated in over twenty expeditions involving scientific fieldwork in many countries around the world, including the Galápagos, Papua New Guinea, Easter Island, Canadian Arctic, Greenland, Andes Mountains, Nepal, and many more. Also, a lifelong avid sailor Dan is a member of the New York Yacht Club. Dan enjoys enhancing his travel experiences through SCUBA, photography, and reading.
His current non-profit activities include serving on the Columbia University Climate Board of Advisors, President’s Circle of National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., and Exploration Chair for the Tree Foundation. Dan has four children and a granddaughter. He lives in New York City with his wife Colette and their two teenage boys. He hopes that we can leave behind a better world for all of them.
