Yining Zbang

Ambassador

Yining has been an active member in raising awareness on pressing societal issues during her time working, studying, and volunteering across five continents. She has represented her schools as a delegate to Harvard and Oxford Model United Nations to discuss key policy issues relating to economic growth and regional development. Yining has also participated in forum discussions with delegates and senior leaders from various sectors at Singapore national Leadership Development Conference, aimed at inspiring and motivating youth leaders to share insights and bring about positive social impact.

Yining took part in her first environmental science program at the age of 13 and has been fascinated by nature and the environment ever since. She has spent six months working on a school project to understand animal welfare conditions in Shanghai by conducting social research and interviewing zookeepers and owners. Her volunteering experience at a sea turtle sanctuary in Sri Lanka has sparked her interest in marine lives particularly, leading to the start of her scuba diving journey for more underwater exploration. Alongside traveling, Yining has also embarked on the challenge of using various art forms such as photography and painting to capture the beauty of nature to raise awareness of environmental substitutability.

On top of her strategy consulting work that drives organisational growth, Yining has been dedicated to cross-cultural exchange and the development of local communities across different regions. Yining has been actively engaged with various NGOs to support communities in need by looking after orphans and disabled children from the earthquake in China, leading the Global Passport Program for Vietnamese students to improve their English literacy and cultural awareness, running fundraising campaigns for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and mentoring disadvantaged Australian female business owners to kickstart their start-up businesses. Yining has also worked as President for Community Speakers Toastmasters, striving to help members with their public speaking and leadership skills, and as the marketing and communication team leader for AIESEC Sydney to run call-to-action marketing campaigns appealing to university students. Yining aspires to contribute her knowledge and skills by participating in meaningful courses to solve challenging social and environmental problems.
