Roberto Saint-Malo

Roberto is BAMCAP Ventures‘ founder (2011) and Managing Partner.  This VC firm presently supports a thriving portfolio of 17 ventures on both sides of the Atlantic.  He has focused on PE and VC investments since 1995, working closely with dozens of ventures in a variety of sectors and consistently generating strong financial returns.   Amongst these:  Energía Global (Renewable Energy / Costa Rica), eDreams (Internet / Spain), Corephotonics (Opto-electronics / Israel), Lexington Medical (Med Tech / US), The Jackfruit Company (Food Innovation / US).   Prior to BAMCAP, in 2002, Roberto founded Spain VC firm Adara Ventures, which he served as Managing Partner until 2010.

Passionate about environmental conservation, Roberto is a Mamoní Valley Preserve board member. Earlier in his career, Roberto worked with McKinsey & Co. from where he was recruited as CEO of Spain food retailer Jumbo Comercial SA in 1988.  His work at Jumbo led to a highly successful exit to Auchan in 1996.  He is a graduate of Dartmouth College (BA Computer Science with Summa Cum Laude honors) and Harvard University (MBA).  A former Global Leader for Tomorrow designee by the World Economic Forum, Roberto has been a YPO member since 1992, and is a citizen of Panama and Spain.
