Roberto has focused on Private Equity and Venture Capital investments since 1995 – working with dozens of ventures in Europe, Israel, the US and Latin America over this time. In 2011 he founded VC firm BAMCAP Ventures, which presently supports a thriving portfolio of 18 ventures on both sides of the Atlantic. Five completed investment cycles to date have returned capital 6 times over and generated total proceeds of nearly $2B.

Roberto started his professional career as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. (Madrid, 1985-1988). From there, he was recruited by a client as CEO Jumbo Commercial, a major food retail operation, in central Spain. Roberto’s ensuing restructuring & repositioning work led to a very successful exit to Auchan in 1996.

A citizen of Panama and Spain, Roberto is a committed conservationist and proud board member of Panama’s Mamoní Valley Preserve. A YPOer since 1992, he was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 1995. A proud father of three, he is an avid traveller and golfer. Roberto holds degrees from Dartmouth College (BA Computer Science with Summa Cum Laude honors) and Harvard University (MBA).
