John Rutherford Seydel II is the founder and chairman of The Oxygen Project, an organization focused on raising awareness and protecting ecosystems that produce oxygen on our planet. The Oxygen Project revolves around activism, empowerment and impact. Seydel is co-founder and chairman of the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper. He is former chairman of the Conservation Fund and the Odum School of Ecology at the University of Georgia. He is a limited partner of the Atlanta Hawks NBA Franchise. He is an officer at the United Nations Foundation, Better World Fund, Inc., Turner Foundation, Inc, and Captain Planet Foundation. Seydel is also a board member of several organizations including Vasser Woolley Foundation. Seydel is a partner in the firm Davis, Pickren, Seydel & Sneed, LLP, and manages the transaction practice focusing on corporate, philanthropic, real estate, entertainment, and all aspects of sustainability.
