Graduate of the “Florence Academy of Art” (1999-2004), he was Invited to teach during his studies and beyond (2003-2010). He eventually became one of the senior instructors for the advanced painting program, teaching classes in the human figure, portraiture, and still life. Since 2013, he has been an ambassador for the “Florence Academy of Art” at Stowe School, U.K, where he teaches various workshops in the academic tradition. He also holds a BA(Hons) degree in Illustration, from Swindon University, U.K (1998).

Inspired by the old masters of pre-20th century, he perpetuates the tradition of painting from life. Alternating between figurative paintings, landscapes, and portrait commissions, he is committed to working from a model in the studio, or painting in ‘plein-air’, gleaning all his inspiration and information from the lived experience, to give the full visual story.

His professional career has lead to various solo and group exhibitions across Europe and America, including Monaco, London, New York, and Los Angeles. His most recent collaborative project was with 15 other artists, in a collective exhibition project, “the image of Russia”, hosted by the culture ministry in Moscow in 2012.

This expedition is a chance to witness, interpret the poetic beauty of the Polar region, and contribute a voice to the fight for its conservation. It is a true privilege to be part of such an endeavour.
